8 years down the line: Where we are going.

In June 2020, we had an interview where we said a lot of things about The LDesign Brand (formerly Light Designs and Prints). We spoke about where we are coming from, how we started, and where we are going. You can find it here. This is a follow-up interview, 5 years down the line. enjoy as you follow the interview below.

You rebranded again. Why?

Good day readers, it's been 5 years! I am Olamiposi Daodu, the Creative Director at The LDesign Brand.
Rebranding came about because we needed a name that not only depicts the printing and design aspect of the organisation, which the former name did. That was why we changed to The LDesign Brand as opposed to the initial name of Light Design and Prints. We also changed our Logo to a more beautiful one that represented us better. After that, we registered the company and will be trademarking the name by God's grace soon.
You mentioned aspects of the organisation. What other aspects does the brand have apart from design and printing?

I will be listing them below
✨ Branding solutions
✨ Customized Journals & Jotters printing
✨ T-shirts, Face caps & Tote bags customization
✨ Book printing & publishing
✨ Beautiful designer beaded bags
✨ Delivery Services (coming soon)
✨ Website Design (coming soon)
✨ UI/UX Design (coming soon)
✨ Social Media Management (coming soon)
✨ Graphics & Website Design Training (coming soon)

This is all that The LDesign Brand entails. It may not look like it right now, but we have a big dream and a big God, so watch out for us.

How do you plan to achieve all these? It's been 8 years since the brand's existence

Well...to be sincere, I don't know. A lot of times, I consider giving up on the vision, on the dream, on what we have already, and just claiming that the organisation went under, but every single time that thought comes, I remember the vision once again, how big God painted it and how if I give up, I won't get to see it. With that, I get motivated all over again and just decide to push on. The brand operated for years underneath because I was working (It's still a one-man brand) and could not balance, but now, all my eggs are in God's basket. I trust that one day, the brand will grow so big to be an employer of thousands.
The brand will also be one where students will have the opportunity to learn design at a young age. We look forward to being accredited as an institute that can offer what a university can offer to students. We also look to be a big tech solution in the world, where we manage Social Media accounts, do UI/UX and create websites, in addition to all that we customise.

It's a very big dream, so I can't tell you yet how it will happen, but we are sure taking it one step at a time.

How have the past 8 years been: Challenges, wins, ups and lows?

Uhmmmm....pause
In all sincerity, it's been a lot, a whole lot. I am not here to motivate because sometimes I need some motivation too. Sometimes, we get silent treatment, sometimes, people come in to ask for our prices and go AWOL, no feedback, no response to our check-ins, and sometimes, just nothing, no calls, no messages for a whole week.
Someone said something which has kept the brand going: It's just a sign of the beginning. Keep at it. Though thoughts come that remind that 8 years shouldn't still be a beginning, but then it's the beginning of a new phase anyway. So our resolve is to keep at it, keep showing up and expect things to get better because they surely will.

What do we watch out for?

Watch out of The LDesign Brand! We do more, we go harder! we do more ads, we reach more people, until the brand becomes a force that can't be relegated.

I hope this interview encourages someone to keep going, keep at it, because it definitely will get better.
